Zero Strength and Zero Quality Satellite Signal
If your problem is zero strength or zero quality then you could consider using free to air help. If not, then you might want to check out the following tips and see if they work. You can always find good tips in a DSS forum as well. When you have zero strength or zero quality satellite signal it is because your dish is not receiving the signal. The easiest way to resolve this is to begin by checking all the connections first. There may be a loose connection somewhere between the receiver and the dish that is causing problems and simply needs to be tightened or reconnected. Double check that everything is plugged into the correct location and that all connections are tight.
One problem that occurs frequently is having the cable plugged into the “In from Antenna” spot rather than the “In from Dish, Digital IN, or LNB IN”. Make sure this is correct and if so then you can move on to the next step. Or, you may have corrected the problem! Other problems could be if there are issues with the cables like a short or moisture in the cables. This is not as likely as the other scenarios so check this one first.
